Freezing (*+﹏+*)

It's currently below 0 degrees C in my city, and it's expected to snow tomorrow (again).

But still...a sudden drop of 18-19 degrees???!? I'd call that a nasty winter gift from the Mongolian steppes!

Stay warm!

*hugs PP to offer some warmth*

Today has been very hot as compared to the past few days. There was rain. This year's weather seems to be different from that of previous years.

Normally around this time of the year, a month or so leading up to Chinese New Year, we would be experiencing very hot and very dry and windy days but so far none of this is happening.

The aroma of roasted chestnuts is wonderful. Over here, the street hawker roasts them together with coffee beans and butter in a big wok. How are yours done?

Like MM said, stay warm, PP.

It seems the winters are getting colder, but shorter. Strange. Hope you keep warm and enjoy the chestnuts.

We had clam chowder soup tonight. We also enjoy oden - a soup of fish cake, daikon radish, konnyaku (a gel made from a kind of yam), and carrots - to forget the cold.

Happy:
This special Chestnut hawker has over 50 decade history which is a family heritage business. The Vendors is a retired former who invented a chestnut mixer machines (similar to cement trucks) in the 1960s. It can make chestnut kept rolling, fully heated, save a lot of work. The operation theorem of the machine is more less the same as the work of cement mixer (Using a cylinder to roll chestnut inverting) Thus, it is a very simple way of making. They don’t mix other materials with nuts together, so it is a special flavor to eat up.

wow...wow...very delicious dinner, wanna fly to there to join you. ;-)

I like to order chowder soup when I have dinner in a Portuguese restaurant here.

Is Oden a Typical JP hot pot food? It seems like Chinese Hot Pot – chicken, beef, lamb, tofu, mushroom, vegetables…etc.

Looks like it's snowing again tonight, too, but not very hard. Hopefully it won't freeze...

That's what they call "nabe" (鍋) here. Oden is also a hot pot, but it contains more specialized ingredients.

Tks. for your inf. I found web dictionary, it explains "nabe" is a cinema near around the house, NOT (鍋).
Speaking of hot pot, I like trying ice-cream hot pot in a COLD winter evening. How sweet and yummy!

Looks like I am in time for nabe party, hehe.

Macau gave me the cold when I first arrived last year - no thanks to walking under exposed weather for a bit :p But now I know what to eat if I'm there again on the right (or wrong? ;p) season :)

But the souther China suffers a lot since most facilities do not design for heavy snow or frost - let's pray for the best for them.
